How reputation works
You earn points when your answer is accepted. Here is exactly how.

Reputation shows how much you have helped others.
How you earn points
You earn 10 points each time the person who asked accepts your answer. That is the only way to earn reputation. Asking, answering or voting does not add points by itself.
Daily cap
You can earn at most 50 points per day.
Changing an accepted answer
The person who asked can change which answer is accepted for 7 days. If an accepted answer changes, the points move with it.
Hidden posts
If an accepted answer is hidden after a moderator review, its points are removed.
