How to write a helpful answer
Explain the idea, not only the result, and your answer is more likely to be accepted.

Good answers teach. A few habits make them far more useful:
- Start with the key idea in one or two sentences.
- Explain why it works, not only what to type.
- Match the asker's level. If they are a beginner, avoid jargon.
- Be kind. Everyone here is learning.
- Stay in scope. Answer what was asked. If something else is wrong, mention it briefly.
Before you post
- Make sure you actually tested or understand what you are suggesting.
- Do not copy an answer you cannot explain.
- Remember that posts are plain text.
Accepted answers earn you 10 points. See How reputation works.
